The Suzuki GN was a standard motorcycle series which appeared in 1982 first as a the GN50E then travelling up the ccs through the Suzuki GN125, which featured an air cooled SOHC single cylinder four stroke engine with chain drive, designed to be easy for beginners. The first models had a front drum brake which could be tricky in cold or wet weather so this drum was replaced by a disc after a year. The instrumentation had a speedometer, odometer, high beam, and turn and gear position indicator lights. The GN was available in bigger models as a 250cc, 400cc and up to 600ccs.
