Thunderfest 2015 Classic Time Trials

Joins the Welsh Classic Motorcycle Festival at Anglesey Race Circuit in May

The Thunderfest Classic Time Trials, where riders have to battle to keep to their declared average speed, have provided classic motorcycle sport and great spectator entertainment, for the last seven years.
Now, for 2015, the Thunderfest is joining forces with the Welsh Classic Motorcycle Festival for a great weekend of classic nostalgia.

Thunderfest organiser Frank Melling said:
“Thunderfest has enjoyed seven fantastic years at Darley Moor, but the opportunity to move to the Anglesey Circuit came at just the right time. Linking with the new Welsh Classic Motorcycle Festival for a combined event will take Thunderfest to the next level.

“The Anglesey Circuit is one of the great tracks anywhere in the world and our riders will be faced with a real challenge when it comes to keeping to their declared speed through the 1.55 miles of twists, turns and tight corners which make riding here such fun.
“Keeping smooth and fast, both essential if you are going to do well in the time trials, is going to be tough with Thunderfest running for 25 minutes plus two laps on each day of the Festival.
“We will also have our own area for Thunderfest at the Festival, with all our classic race bikes on display so it will have the look and feel of a classic GP.

Rob Beale from Classic Bike Trackdays, who are the organisers of the Welsh Classic Motorcycle Festival said:
“We're very pleased that Thunderfest will be a part of this new classic bike weekend.  The Thunderfest competitors will add another dimension to the huge selection of classic machinery on display throughout the venue, and also complement all the circuit action with an exciting competitive element.
Thunderfest is a real test of skill and there are some fantastic bikes entered. The event will add a real sense of theatre to the Welsh Classic Motorcycle Festival and we’re looking forward to seeing these lovely old classic race bikes out on the track where they belong!"
