Mallory Bike Bonanza

A great weekend motorcycle event at Mallory Park

Last weekend saw the Mallory Bike Bonanza taking place at Mallory Park Circuit in Leicestershire. The Bike Bonanza was quite a quiet event - in terms of vistors not decibels - but it was still an interesting and entertaining weekend for motorcycle enthusiasts.

The event had plenty of great features From Agostini and John McGuinness on the track to a display by the Brooklands Museum plus lots of parade laps all day from a huge variety of old and modern machinery. One notable race was C90s and step thrus in action featuring a Le Mans racing start - Classic!

Because it is one of the smaller circuits, Mallory Park has a very unique feel and you can wander around freely between the motorcycles and entrants and chat to them about their bikes. It feels like a very personal event, as you sit eating chips next to the track while ‘Ago’ speeds past only a few feet away. Because it was quiet this year there were plenty of vantage points to see the track from and enjoy the action.

Wemoto had a pitch overlooking the circuit (Yes we were there even though they forgot to put us in the programme!) and it was nice to meet so many of our existing customers and some new ones. The only problem we had was that we had to change our yellow Wemoto shirts for white ones as the yellow was attracting so many of Leicestershire’s Thunderflies from the nearby fields, that we resembled Pig Pen from Peanuts at one stage and customers were backing away worriedly!

A highlight for us too was when the Wemoto necktubes we were giving away were turned into tops or whole outfits by the more imaginative of our customers - see picture.

What good taste!

All in all though Mallory Park is a really great little circuit which makes for a very enjoyable event – good time had by all! Just remember if you've been there and bought the T shirt - hope you made sure it wasn't a yellow one!
