Graeme Gowland leaves Seton Tuning Yamaha

Official statement from Seton Tuning Yamaha

It is with regret that Seton Tuning Yamaha and Graeme Gowland have parted company.

It is no secret that Team Principal Phil Seton has been hard at work actively trying to secure a new sponsor after his main sponsor pulled out of UK activities in June of this year.

Team sponsor Swift Moto along with team supporters Ron Drury and Mikey Elliott came to the rescue on the eve of Brands Hatch in order for Graeme to make the starting grid where he rewarded them with his first pole and podium of the season.

Now, despite team sponsors Swift Moto and Excel Skip Hire pledging extra funding for the next two rounds at Oulton Park and Cadwell Park, finances are not yet guaranteed for the remainder of the season. As a result, Graeme has decided that his future is uncertain and has elected to leave the team.

Team Principal Phil Seton would like to take this opportunity to thank all partners and sponsors that have helped to make the team competitive at the highest level this season.

Phil will now be faced with the difficult task of replacing one of the most talented riders in the paddock ahead of round seven at Oulton Park.

Phil Seton:

“The team has worked tirelessly this season in order to give Graeme the most competitive package possible with the Yamaha YZF-R6, and has been rewarded with fifth in the championship, plus a pole and podium at the last round. We know that our bike can run at the sharp end and can make a serious challenge for race wins. It is a great shame that Graeme has taken this decision and I am now actively seeking a replacement rider of the highest calibre ahead of Oulton Park."
