Press Release
'I'm just back from Donington BSB with Tyco. I was really looking forward to the opportunity of riding with a competitive team after some good testing under my belt earlier this year. I’ve only done a handful of BSBs over the past four years, so I was keen to make the most of it.
'Practice went well and I was feeling good. Even in tricky conditions, I was running in the top ten.
'Qualifying
'I was feeling comfortable and sat in the sixth position. I was pushing on and was up on sector times when I lost the front at the final turn so dropped to 11th.'
'Race 1-2.
'The first two races are run back-to-back at 13 laps apiece. I made a good start and was sat in seventh when I overshot at foggy Esses. I was back to tenth but got up to seventh by the end. After struggling in race one, we made some small changes to cure the chatter on the front end. I made an even better start and was in third early on, dropping to fourth and staying there for the rest of the race till they red flagged it three laps from the end. So I never got the chance to try for the podium.
'Race 3
'The weather was not very nice on Monday and so we had a wet track to deal with. I made a good start but soon dropped to eight. Not feeling so comfortable, I tried to settle in as the race went on, but couldn’t get the bike to turn too well, so I had to settle for tenth.
'The whole weekend was great though and I really enjoyed it. It’s good to show I can go well on the circuits as well as the roads so hopefully, I’ll get more opportunities to do more.'
