David Stokes and his Honda Superdream sidecar outfit
are go!
David Stokes, intrepid Superdream sidecar traveller, is off on Friday on his epic voyage
See Go with Stokes our previous article for full details of his trip.
Here are a few words from him before his departure:
"I catch the 1745 DFDS sailing from Harwich to Esbjerg on the evening of Friday 25th April and am due to arrive around lunch time on Saturday 26th. From there the plan is to ride the 180 miles to Copenhagen, spend two nights there and carry on to Karlskrona in Sweden. I will cross the Baltic from there to Gdynia on the Stena service on around the 29th, to arrive in the city hopefully in time for breakfast.
After travelling the 20 miles to Gdansk I will spend two days there, then set off for three days in Warsaw, two days in Krakow and a further two days in Poznan.
This trip is a moveable feast and I might stay in other places after talking to various tourist offices to see what they say. I want to do some camping if the weather is conducive, but other than the planned hotels the Polish Tourist Service have given me I will be staying in hostels. After Poland I'll ride through Germany to Holland and catch the Stena service to Harwich."
David will be keeping in touch as he travels so we will post his tales of derring do along the way. It's always inspiring to see people setting off on adventures and makes it all seem possible for any motorcyclist to go off and see the world.
