Improved design and engine revealed for 2021

So the sparkly new Aprilia RSV4 Standard and RSV4 Factory are out with a multitude of tweaks to the design and the engine. The supersport bike boasts a plethora of new electronic details and a 217hp Euro 5-compliant 1,099cc V4 engine.

The RSV4 has a beefy fuel tank, a stepped up seat which aims to improve the riding position, upswept exhaust, raised windscreen and golden front forks. It sports fairing-integrated winglets, along with TFT instrument console, LED headlights and cornering lights. These much vaunted cornering lights are interesting. They activate and light up the inside of a corner helping with the visibility – by 'bending light' as Aprilia likes to claim – say what?

The idea of the new electronics update is to make it more intuitive and rider friendly. It has a larger TFT screen so that the rider can easily pick one of the 6 riding modes, to chose the best riding settings to suit the conditions out of the 3 track modes and 3 road modes on offer.

It has a ride-by-wire throttle, disc brakes on both wheels and dual channel ABS, plus the Aprilia Performance Ride Control (APRC) system.

The standard version comes in Dark Losail colour while the factory model has forged aluminium wheels and an Aprilia Black, Lava Red paint job.

So there are some nice looking motorcycles coming on stream for 2021. Let's hope everything just gets better so folks get a chance to get out there and enjoy them.
